Oral:Acute oral LD₅₀ for rats 2603 mg/ kg. Percutaneous:Acute percutaneous LD₅₀ for rats >3000, rabbits >10 200 mg/kg. Not a skin or eye irritant (rabbits). Inhalation: LC₅₀ (4 h) for rats >1.1 mg/l air. Phytotoxicity:Some bean and tobacco varieties may be injured.

Ecotoxicology: 
Algae: EC₅₀ (5 d) 0.26 mg/l.Bees:Not toxic to bees. LC₅₀ (oral) >325 mg/bee; (contact) >130 mg/bee.Birds: LD₅₀ for Japanese quail 565, Pekin ducks 6643 mg/ kg b.w. LC₅₀ (7 d) for Japanese quail >10 000, mallard ducks >24 300, bobwhite quail 18 100 Daphnia: LC₅₀ (48 h) 44 mg/l.Fish: LC₅₀ (96 h) for rainbow trout 36, bluegill sunfish 40, crucian carp 40 mg/l.Worms: LC₅₀ (14 d) for earthworms 467 mg/ kg (practically non-toxic). 

Environmental fate: 
Animals:Metabolism proceeds mainly via N-demethylation, N-dealkoxylation, phenyl ring hydroxylation, cleavage of the ureido group and subsequent conjugation with sulfuric acid.Soil: DT₅₀ in soil 30 d; strongly bound to soil (K_oc 184 ml/g), indicating low leaching potential. In water, it is stable to abiotic degradation, bu,t in biologically active systems, DT₅₀
