Environmental fate:
Animals:In mammals, the major metabolic route is N-oxidation to hydroxy-IPC.Soil:In soil, readily degraded by micro-organisms, with enzymic hydrolysis of the ester bond and degradation of the unstable N-phenylcarbamic acid to aniline and CO₂, with further microbial degradation of aniline. DT₅₀N-2-hydroxycarbanilate, which is found as water-soluble conjugates of glucose or other plant components. WATER SOLUBILITY: 0.25 g/l at 20°C
